The Red Light Area of Bangkok feels dark every night, but on Halloween the level of darkness increases. NightLight doesn't usually do outreach in the Red Light Area on Halloween.
This year, however, we had a unique opportunity to share love and light with our neighbors. The Evangelical Church of Bangkok (ECB) donated 180 bags of small gifts for our outreach team to hand out on the busy streets.
The outreach was surprisingly a lot of fun, and we could feel light shining around and through us on a night that otherwise promotes themes of fear and death. The faces of the women and men we met at the massage parlors, bars, and along the streets lit up with surprise and happiness when they received the gifts. We're so grateful for this opportunity.
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it!
